After visiting the shelter on Christmas Eve, donating as is our tradition, it was easy to see so many are in want and need of homes. So many are not as fortunate as Teddy. It is always a heartbreak to see, but I always remain thankful that there are folks like those at the shelters, dog wardens, cruelty officers, and any who work to help save animals-it is an emotional job, but thankfully they are strong enough to do it.We've also been helping with some rescue placements from kennel/mill closings in PA-and naturally a lot of the shelters are even becoming more overcrowded. If you know of anyone wanting a special friend, please encourage them to visit a shelter-there are so many in want and need there.
Puppy mill dogs may need a little more tlc and patience in the beginning as their world was very limited once, but they do make wonderful companions and pets once settled in-why not give one a chance?
May the peace of the Christmas season fill your hearts and homes, and may you all have a blessed New Year.
