It's now 3:30 PM, and it seemed that every time I looked out the back door this afternoon, he was standing there staring down at the house, just like in the picture below. My dogs saw him as well but I THINK (and that's a big "think") I have them where they hopefully will no longer bark at him, seems they too are getting used to him and me saying "shhh, you'll scare the dog!" Now if only the reverse could be true and he would get used to all of us.
I took up some more treats to add to his plates hoping the aroma might drive him in. I also dangled, by string, a nice smelly chunk of meat in the center of the trap, hoping for the best of course. In a few hours before it is dark, I will make my way up and clear away all food as always (don't want any other critters to make the trap a home), and start again tomorrow. The water/broth is almost gone. So maybe...just maybe...tomorrow will be the day.
