Well our boy arrived this morning and devoured his breakfast. I trailed some delectables from "his" area down to where I think we'll be setting up the kennel. We'll have to see once we get it up. It's pretty far from our house to the back yard and I think I'm going to have to play around with the rope-door scenario. I may end up at some point hiding some where closer, waiting for him to arrive, and pulling it closed. We'll see.
I did contact the person who has told us she has fed him in the past. At first she didn't know if he was there yesterday (cause he wasn't here), but then her husband said he was. I didn't quite get a response for if they HAD or HAD NOT fed him yesterday-somebody had to. No matter, I explained what we would be doing and asked her to not feed him AT ALL starting Monday, and she agreed. So hopefully all will be set up and ready to go. Keep your fingers crossed-I'm going to take it a little slow at first, once again trying to get him used to some thing new and different can be a challenge.
